EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Who We Are
Educational Research Institute (“ERI”) was established on March 19, 2004 by Dr. Wendy Y. Carter and Bruce Mosby as an Arizona non-profit corporation focused on education. ERI is a foundation created to specifically address and help reduce the attrition rate among graduate students. The majority of our efforts focus on understanding the needs of traditional graduate students who are required to write a Master’s thesis and or doctoral dissertation. All activities of the organization focus on researching effective ways and making available effective support tools to help Master’s Thesis and Doctoral Dissertation students complete their graduate programs.
ERI directs its research and support efforts to both the general population of students enrolled in graduate programs and undergraduates desiring to enroll in graduate programs. In an attempt to support the on-going efforts to diversify the academic faculty in all disciplines, ERI is committed to any recruitment and retention efforts that help to identify and support women and minorities pursuing degrees in higher education. One of our primary goals is to help women and minorities in all disciplines successfully completed their graduate degrees.
Director of ERI
Dr. Wendy Y. Carter is the Director of ERI. As a result of her extensive research efforts on graduate attrition, her professional development workshops for graduate students working on a Master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation, and individual coaching sessions, many graduate students have finished their degree. Moreover, Dr. Carter utilized her extensive experience to create some initial resource tools that have proven extremely helpful to graduate students. The initial feedback from graduate students suggests that these tools are essential to organizing and completing a Master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation. Dr. Carter has also produced an extensive research report entitled, Six Major Reasons Why Graduate Students Don’t Finish. The executive summary is available at: www.tadafinallyfinished.com
